Hi, I’m Julia…
I’m a mental performance consultant, a life-long athlete, and the founder of PEAK Mind & Body. I help athletes balance high performance with intentional recovery, because I know what it looks like when that balance breaks, and what it takes to find it again.
My Story
I grew up in New Jersey, playing every sport I could — from skiing and track & field to rowing and ice hockey. I went on to row at Tufts University, but somewhere along the way I lost sight of why I loved sport. I became an athlete first and a person second, and after a career-ending overuse injury to my back, I walked away.
A year later while studying abroad at the University of Edinburgh, I walked onto the women’s rugby team on a whim. Within six months, I had made the top roster and won a regional championship. More importantly, I loved sport again.
That experience led me to the University of Denver’s Sport & Performance Psychology program, and to the question undergirding all my work:
How do we pursue excellence without losing ourselves in the process?
